Multifaceted Maestro

Sri KYL Narasimha Rao (born 1924) is a M.A (Litt.) from the Andhra University (1951) holding a first rank and a Gold Medal. He worked as Asst. Lecturer, Lecturer and Principal at Govt. Degree colleges in the Madras, Andhra and Osmania University areas and retired at Karimanagar in 1979.

Then he joined the Osmania University as UGC Coordinator for the National Adult Education Programme, and later worked as Director, Adult Education, Literacy House, AMS and then Director, Administration, NRDCS and Director, Satyam Public School. Art and Drama were his favorite fields of activity wherever he was as student or Lecturer. He won the best actor award for his portrayal of Chitrangi in Chalam’s play, ‘Chitrangi’, at the AU Inter-Collegiate Drama Competitions in 1944 at Guntur. He was Secretary of the Dramatic Association A.U., and at all the Colleges, where he worked, he was either Adviser, Students Union, or President, Dramatic Association.

Sri Narasimha Rao is an artist, actor, director and producer, and is also a speaker and writer. He is the President of several cultural organizations in the city, like Samskara Bharati and Vijnana Deepika, and won the Golden Nandi Award for the best play, ‘Mahakavi Kalidasu’, produced by Samskara Bharati in 2001 at Ravindra Bharati.

His ‘Manudharma Sastram’ in Telugu is considered a standard work on Hindu Dharma. His ‘Tolimoggalu’ is a collection of his early products, like literary articles, short stories, radio plays and poems, while his -‘Vedavijnanam’ is a short work on the Vedas and their contents. Now he has published ‘Manu, The First Indian Law- Maker’ in English and ‘Najeevitayanam’, his autobiography in Telugu. His extempore speeches on Indian culture and the ‘Mukhadvaram’ to his ‘Manudharmasastram’ are recorded in his voice and Cds are available. Till his 90, he was in constant pursuit of excellence in life and devotion to Sanatana Dharma.
